About Jacob Louis
The lights of Broadway, Disney dreams, and a bright future were all ahead for Jacob Louis. As a young actor he had already performed in NYC, Washington D.C., Oklahoma, and numerous theaters and shows. He was pursuing a Bachelor’s in Theater at Oklahoma Baptist University, when his life took a drastic change.
A devastating car accident brought him to the brink of death, and time of deep reflection. Just a few inches deeper and the glass that shattered into his wrists would have been fatal. A broken nose, a severe concussion, and risky surgery, that could have damaged his voice, became his reality. Even then he went on to audition in New York City, and continued his education – but something wasn’t right. After battling countless obstacles at school, and a greater battle in his spirit, Jacob Louis returned home to Corpus Christi, Texas, to reevaluate his dreams, and God’s plans.
Moving back to Corpus Christi was the best decision Jacob has ever made, and one that God had been preparing him for. Doors opened for him to record a Christian Country album at Trinity Studios, under the guidance and wisdom of producer Jim Wilken. At 22 years old Jacob’s powerful vocals and determination impressed Jim right away, he was eager to work with Jacob, seeing the potential of his talent.
“When I Fly Away” is an incredible, and moving recording of Christian-country music. Flavored with songs about heaven, and the joy of knowing Jesus, each song draws you in closer to the Lord. “When I Fly Away” is comprised of 11 never before released songs, most written by nationally known songwriters. The first single, “From a Cross to a Crown”, is to be released on radio, nationwide, through Glory Train Records.
Jacob is currently a junior at Texas A & M University in Corpus Christi and plans to graduate with his teaching certificate in Theatre Arts and a minor in Business Administration. He has also started a theater ministry at his church, Primera Iglesia Bautista.
Jacob loves to share his love for Jesus, testify to His faithfulness and His goodness, and more than anything, glorify God, and God alone. He holds onto Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
